Blair Collins

CEO

Blair is excited to be joining the team at Carolina Ingredients.

I grew up in Ohio and studied Business Administration at The Ohio State University, beginning my career in Sales & Marketing, and eventually working in the Fine Ingredients Division of Ashland Distribution in Dublin, OH.  My family and I were relocated to Mission Viejo, CA and we resided there for nearly 14 years, during which time Mitsubishi Corporation acquired the Fine Ingredients business from Ashland, merging it with MIC Specialty Chemical food products and forming Mitsubishi International Food Ingredients (MIFI).  During this period, I had various roles with the organization ranging from Nutritional Product Manager to Regional Manager of Sales, to eventually becoming General Manager of Sales & Marketing.  We were transferred to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where I was very proud to serve as CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation Life Sciences Europe (MCLE), living there for nearly 5 years.  We have now been in the Rock Hill area since 2020.

Having been in the Food Ingredients Industry for over 20 years I am happy to see the focus on Health & Nutrition that is occurring within our market and excited by the role that Carolina Ingredients is playing in the industry.

Core Culture

While I feel that we value equally all 7 of our Core Cultures at Carolina Ingredients, as an avid lover of nature I am partial to our culture “Optimize Sustainable Practice”. We are particularly proud of the LEED Status of our facility, however I am also proud of how we at Carolina Ingredients have gone beyond just that focus and have implemented recycling plans and waste reduction actions as well. In addition, we are focused on helping lead the industry in the development of Plant-based Meat and alternative protein sources for food, all with a focus on providing great tastes for helping to drive sustainable food sources for future growth, while maintaining the health of the environment.

Personal

My wife Christine and I have settled in the suburbs of Charlotte, NC, along with our daughter Katharina, who attends Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, double majoring in Germanic Studies and International Studies, and our son Gavin, who is in high school and is an avid soccer player. We have all enjoyed getting to know many of the hiking trails of the region and are excited to continue learning the many great outdoor activities the area has to offer.

Favorite Seasoning Blend

Any blend we make with Pink Himalayan Salt! Setting aside the fact that Pink Himalayan Salt is more minerally rich than regular salt, containing nearly 80 minerals, it also is lower in sodium and provides a tremendous benefit for healthier cooking.
